Dr Rhonda Cumberland
Dr Rhonda Cumberland is South East Community Links’ inaugural CEO following the successful amalgamations of the Springvale Community Aid and Advice Bureau (SCAAB), the Dandenong Community Advisory Bureau (DCAB) and the Southern Ethnic Advisory and Advocacy Council (SEAAC).
Rhonda has recently completed a six-year period as the inaugural CEO of Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand. She played a key role in creating Good Shepherd Microfinance (GSM) in 2011. GSM is now the strongest voice for financial inclusion and accountability in Australia. She has a wealth of experience in community services.
Before leaving Good Shepherd she managed the restructure of the Good Shepherd network. She had previously been the state director of the Office for Women in the Victorian state government, where she played a major role in developing the integrated family violence service system. This followed six years as Executive Director of the Victorian Domestic Violence Crisis Service.
Of her professional goals, Rhonda highlights the need to support the community sector to continue to provide integrated services to increasingly diverse communities and these services should aim to contribute to new economic opportunities for the community as well as social justice.
